Drawing the Human Figure
I find this next part of drawing to be very challenging. I am trying not to be intimidated by the thought of drawing human figures. Instead, I will focus on breaking things down into more simple terms.

I have been enjoying this seven line portrait drawing. it is all about getting the right angles when you are drawing a person. the stick works well for site measuring those angles.

I liked this lesson as it reminds me that are spines are not flat. That they are in an S-curve. This S-curve places the angles of the body into some diagonal curves. not everything is straight up and down.

I included this piece of digital artwork to show you where my drawing evolved too. My love for my husband is so deep. It is cosmic and eternal. A lot of things I create are steeped in my expression of love.
SKETCHBOOK DRAWINGS

I have had a radical shift in my drawing and self esteem since I have started drawing and playing with charcoal. Things are starting to click in my head and making it to my hand with drawing. I am excited to see what occurs.

I am enjoying working with the charcoal sticks! the way they flow on the paper. I have never done shading before, and the charcoal lets you smudge things into shade. That blending stump is useful too. We are going to be starting the Human Figure. I drew this self portrait as a way to mark the beginning of this journey. My face is masked because of Covid 19. I am familiar with the bones of the body. Now I will learn how to draw a fleshed out version. A face with all the features in their proper placement.
