I enjoyed mixing these colors. I could see it becoming a ritual.
Asymmetrical Primary Composition
Sketchbook idea for painting. I knew right away what I needed to paint. it is not in my nature to have to think about what I want to create. It just comes out. I was also confused as the assignment asked for symmetry, and the example showed two pop tins side by side with one squished.I painted yellow flames and red heart onto cardstock. While outlining the flames in blue, I decided to frame things in white to add high contrast as we could not use black.
I painted a 12″ x 16″ wooden panel with the primary blue paint. I then used glue to collage everything in place.

I am very happy with the outcome of this artwork. I enjoy the boundaries placed on the assignments as it takes out choice in what we must do.
