Model Studies
Today found us in the studio doing live model studies. They were quick timed poses, and I had to use a long stick with a piece of string tied to it, and a stick, dipped into ink. They were quick gesture studies and I have problems with not putting in an outline. It is like my brain needs to firmly see the boundry of the form before it will even start to think about filling inside. I blame this on alcoholic parents and childhood trauma.
Ink and stick studies:

Quick poses using color. We are looking at the muscles and skeleton underneath thinking how it shapes the body.

Two longer poses using chalk pastel on pre treated colored papers.
