Week 6

Been working on the book to go with the tarot cards.
Writing down the meanings of each card.
Thinking about display. I will use a black table in the studio and spread out a tablecloth. Create some sort of witchy vibe.
I still have not let go the idea of assemblages inside the heads. Time is running out. I still may do a couple of assemblages with the other heads. It all depends on my time and energy. I usually get some sort of manic streak at the very end and interesting things can occur.
I made a mock up of the book with some paper. 4 pages to a sheet of paper, double sided. I did lose my mind while doing this to get it correct.

I have an old program called ArcSoft PhotoStudio. It is what I used to formulate all my cards into pages. Then I used my photo printing program to print.

Printed pages were cut and stacked. Clamps were used to keep everything straight. I used a thumbtack to poke holes through all the layers. Using a needle and strong thread, I sewed the pages together. I then folded the pages in half and used clamps on the spine.

To make the cover, I formatted my design and printed out onto a fabric page. Two pieces of cardboard were glued onto the inside and the fabric was wrapped around them. Lots of clamps were used to hold everything in place while the glue dried.

When it was dry, I glued it onto the book. Some ribbon was also glued in for tying the book. Unfortunately I didn’t get the cover on right. The book needed to be pushed back more into its cover. This affects the way the book opens. Too late as the glue is dried. I may remake the book in the future.
